With woe it's told
How Mercy’s fair bestowment
Crumbles 'neath the
Winter Shadow's wrath
The Reaper's call
"Submit to grave enchantments
For every day is crowned
With a setting sun."
To her doom
Countenance alight
Flush as blazing rubies
Clenched in pallid snow
With every breath
Death’s baneful jaw
Tears another morsel
Right from her ailing soul
The townspeople
Consult each other
As George Brown's daughter
Meets her doom
"What shall be done
If the reckoning on this family
Leads to the threshold
of our very own doors?"

Hearsay
03:17
|
|
||
"I saw her there
Bathed in witching moonlight
Stalking to the threshold of
Suffering Edwin's room
"I caught her glare
A sevenfold fright
Its horror drains the might from man
And joy from woman's womb
"Prospects dim
Edwin’s death draws near
He cannot draw a breath without
Expulsion from his heart
“Pity for him
But curses follow accursed in like
I reckon sin roots deeply
In the grounds of their wretched plot!”

Division
03:51
|
|
||
These folk
A fickle and paranoid horde
Spread utterance of discord
Act judge and jury
Of those abhorred
See
How they avert their eyes
In shame holding close their lies
In place of suffering
Brothers in Christ
Desire
For a peace which evades
Never will a blessed day
Be found amidst
Their crooked ways
And now
They draw close
To pronounce their boast,
"Something must be done
To still this Phantom's approach"

Abide With Me
04:17
|
|
||
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless, O abide with me
Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord
Familiar, condescending, patient, free
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me
Come not in terror, as the King of kings
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me

"A curse festers
in our midst!
Grown from an estate
Within our town
“Drive them hither
From our doors
Lest they bring the wrath
Of heaven down
"The daughter's flesh
Comes to life
And drains our vigor
In the night
“The son is preyed upon
Worst of all
Evil gathers 'round him
As hellhounds answer Satan's call
“How callous
We weigh the cost
To save ourselves
And count others lost
“How might we live
With Godly pride
And yet condemn
Our own to die?
“Brothers and sisters
Bear no ill
To these here
We count our own
“Things might be done
To clean this slate
Shall we drive them
Out in haste?
“There are means
To set things right:
Expel the ghost of Mercy
And treat Edwin's plight
“The hidden workings
And scripts of old
Might expel the evil
From their home"

Banishment Rite
04:29
|
|
||
The crowds are gathered
To the burial site
This exhumation
A banishment rite
Her hair and nails
Grow as before
And fresh blood
In heart, engorged
Set alight
Upon the stone
Her organs smoldered
And mixed in a bowl
The brew is such
To cleanse the flesh
Of Mercy's witching
And Edwin's death
Compounding misery
A dreadful mix
The ashen water
Presented thus
His spirit shaken
Weighs grim the thought
"Mine kind hath remedies
Far removed from God"

Triumph Of Death
06:57
|
|
||
Through outer darkness
A spectre doth gleam
With mournful eyes and
Countenance serene
Beckoning hither
Across the great expanse
'Twixt the waking world
And what comes next
A fading light
Draining from the hollows of his eyes
The final rites
Spoken in murmurs as he dies
The soul arise
Pulled from his cooling flesh
One with the night
As Edwin Brown
Surrendered to the
Triumph of Death
On the morrow
A shadow comes to life
Banished from the sun
To dwell in the moonlight
His needs are such
That all had feared
Drawing from loved ones
lives held dear
Accursed night
Horror in the abyss of their eyes
The pleas of fright
Groaned by his victims as they writhe
In time
They'll succumb like all the rest
